1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle 6 of 10 | McKenzie

This blog titled “1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle 6 of 10 | McKenzie” is about a puzzle which is McKenzie. This is puzzle number 6 from the puzzle series.

The puzzle picture is from the very first shoot McKenzie and I ever did. These all are pictures that I took (YES, I’m a photographer as well!). Basically, as part of a cool project, I took some of my own photos and created puzzles out of them. If you haven’t yet watched all the videos from the puzzle series, do check out all of them.

Do you know there are some mind-blowing benefits of puzzling that might surprise you?

Here are some of them:

  • The action of putting together a jigsaw puzzle exercises both sides of the brain simultaneously. You might know that right brains are creative and intuitive, while left brains are logical and linear. Sanesco Health, an industry leader in neurotransmitter testing, says that when you do a jigsaw puzzle, your left and right sides are engaged. You can think of it as a mental workout that increases your ability to solve problems and pay attention. No wonder Bill Gates is an avid puzzler.
  • You can enhance your short-term memory with jigsaw puzzles. For instance, do you often forget or find it difficult to remember that what you had for lunch or dinner yesterday? Jigsaw puzzles can be helpful in that regard. By doing a puzzle, you strengthen connections between brain cells, improve your mental speed, and enhance your short-term memory at the same time.
  • Moreover, you can develop and improve visual-spatial reasoning by solving jigsaw puzzles.Wondering how?

In order to do a jigsaw puzzle, you need to look at the individual pieces and figure out how they'll fit together. Practicing it regularly will help you improve your visual-spatial reasoning, which is useful when driving, packing, reading maps, dancing, and a long list of other things.

  • Jigsaw puzzles can be a great stress reliever and meditation tool as well.
  • The act of focusing on one image for a long period of time without allowing extraneous thoughts to enter your mind is meditation in and of itself.
  • You get the same benefits as meditating by doing a jigsaw puzzle. The stress of everyday life disappears, and it is replaced by a feeling of peace and tranquillity which lowers your blood pressure and heart rate.
  • The joy of putting together a puzzle with family is priceless. It's a great idea to keep a jigsaw puzzle on a table in your living room or kitchen so that the whole family can join in whenever they have a minute to sit down and concentrate. This method can be used by parents to start a conversation while working toward a shared goal.
  • Additionally, it is great to have some alone time with a jigsaw puzzle. There's nothing better than solving puzzles in solitude to escape the chaos and unrelenting stimuli of today's digital lifestyle.

Stay tuned to find out more about jigsaw puzzles and until then, puzzle on, puzzlers!
