Hi, puzzlers! So, as promised in my previous video, I'm back with a new puzzle from the puzzle series called "Grand Canyon".
In this blog, "The Puzzle Series | Grand Canyon," I'm going to discuss a puzzle “Grand Canyon” from a trip I took my parents on a year or two ago. We did a round trip from Houston to San Francisco with a lot of stops along the way, one of which was the Grand Canyon.

If you've been following the series from the last 10 puzzles I've done, you might already know what this is. But if this is your first time visiting here, let me tell you that I've done 11 puzzles in the past.
The first one was just for fun that I did and got a decent response from, so I went ahead and printed 10 of my own photography prints as puzzles and ended up doing all of those puzzles. And if you haven’t checked them all yet, you can do so here. I’m sure you won’t want to miss it!
So, here is how I approached this puzzle:
- The box was taped shut, so I opened it first, and I guess one advantage of having double boards is that I've got a lot more space for my trays, at least until I started putting the puzzle together.
- And man, they went crazy on this as they put tape on all four sides, I thought it was just the top and bottom but it appeared they also placed them in a bag, so I first cleared that up.
- I approached this in the same way I've approached the others. I separated out all the side pieces and then separated out the different shapes of pieces, and tried to do some of the colors.
- Then, I put all blue pieces on a tray since it's the sky, and then everything else went together because even though there are some shadows and some things in there, it's all just the Grand Canyons a lot of rock, and mountains.
- This one has a thousand pieces, so it has roughly the same number of pieces as the other, it's just a different shape, and there's a lot of puzzle dust on it.
Let me tell you, this puzzle was extremely difficult!
This one took me a long time because there were a lot of areas. Also, I got hung up on doing the initial border of it that was pretty easy. And doing the sky was pretty easy as well.
But man, once I started getting into the actual canyon part all the browns and reds and in yellow tones and shadows even though there's a little bit of variance in the colors those same colors are like spread throughout the canyon so it's like you might think it would go to the left side but it would go to the opposite side.
And since all the pieces started to look the same as the others, this puzzle proved to be quite challenging.
But one thing I must mention is that the quality of the puzzle pieces is really nice. One of the issues with the others was that the pieces were kind of loose and you could barely bump it and those pieces would come loose, but that was not the case for these puzzle pieces.
