Reviewing A Cobble Hill Jigsaw Puzzle | Archie

A Comprehensive Review of the Cobble Hill Jigsaw Puzzle: Archie

In this blog post, we will delve into the details of a jigsaw puzzle from Cobble Hill, specifically the Archie puzzle. This review covers the quality of the puzzle, the assembly experience, and the nostalgic elements associated with the Archie comic series.

The Cobble Hill Archie puzzle was sent to me back in 2020, and I want to extend a shout-out to Linda from Cobble Hill for this thoughtful gift. Along with this puzzle, I also received another one called "Cabins," which I encourage you to check out. The Archie puzzle is a 500-piece puzzle, a change from my previous experience with a 1000-piece puzzle, which tends to take longer to complete. My goal with this puzzle was to finish it in about an hour.

Unboxing the Puzzle

Upon opening the box, I was greeted with a well-preserved puzzle and a nice print. The box itself was in perfect condition, which is always a plus. The puzzle features covers from the Archie comic books, which I believe date back to the 1950s or 1960s. While I may not have been around during that time, I still have fond memories of Archie comics, which adds a layer of nostalgia to this puzzle.

Quality of the Puzzle Pieces

The puzzle consists of larger pieces compared to the 1000-piece puzzles, making it easier to handle. The pieces are made from litho paper, which I was unfamiliar with before this review. Litho paper has a slight gloss finish, providing a smooth texture that enhances the overall quality of the puzzle. Although there was a bit of puzzle dust, it was manageable and did not hinder the assembly process.

Assembly Experience

I began the assembly process by separating the pieces, which is a crucial step in any jigsaw puzzle. The larger size of the pieces made this task straightforward. As I started putting the puzzle together, I found that the slight gloss on the pieces did create a minor glare under certain lighting conditions, but it was not significant enough to cause any issues.

The assembly took me approximately an hour and a half, which was a bit longer than my initial estimate but still reasonable for a 500-piece puzzle. One helpful aspect I discovered was the inclusion of a poster with the puzzle. This poster not only displayed the puzzle's name and piece count but also provided a clearer view of the image, especially for the parts that wrapped around the edges. This feature proved to be beneficial while assembling the edges of the puzzle.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Cobble Hill Archie puzzle was a delightful experience. The quality of the pieces, the nostalgic value of the Archie comic series, and the helpful poster made for an enjoyable assembly process. I want to thank Linda from Cobble Hill once again for sending this puzzle my way.
