1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle 5 of 10 | Brittney

Hey, guys!

I'm excited to be back again with another puzzle for you guys. This blog “1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle 5 of 10 | Brittney” discusses a puzzle I made of Brittney aka AddisonMinx. Since I'm also a photographer, I made this puzzle from 9 of my own photos.

So long story short:

  • Brittney is a super creative person who I met through actual photoshoots, just like I met most of the people I shoot with. After lining up a shoot, we ended up doing five shoots in total. However, this one is from a series I started called “boxed”.
  • It was actually a friend of mine who created a wooden box that matched the aspect ratio of a photograph. Also, I had special instructions on how I wanted it to be constructed.
  • I wanted little holes little inserts that could be removed so that the models could hang from it and do different poses and be creative.
  • As part of editing them, I sometimes would take nine different poses from the shoot and combine them into one final edit. Then I would combine them into one photo.
  • In this puzzle, you’ll see that there are actually nine separate pictures that make up one picture. Therefore, completing this one will be interesting since it's almost like doing a series of small puzzles within one larger one so it will be a challenge, but I’m sure we can do it.

So, to begin with, I started assembling the pieces of this puzzle. As soon as I assembled those last five pieces, I figured that this would be an incredibly challenging puzzle since there are nearly nine different kinds of individual puzzles.

My strategy for this puzzle was pretty basic:

  • After I finished the border, I started with her black clothing, since that was the easiest thing to identify.
  • From there, her face, and then I think somewhere along the line my roommate started putting together a lot of the circles so that made things easier at the time, too.
  • Then there were all these lines that were all over the boxes. Now you might think that's easy, but the shadows and everything were exactly the same across, so it was kind of a challenge to figure that out.  So, one thing I would like to mention is that I'm a little disappointed with Shutterfly on this issue.
  • When I ordered this puzzle, I made sure that everything would fit within the bleed lines. I wanted nothing to be cut off and I wanted this to be perfect as it was when I edited it.
  • I wanted it to be kind of glaring. However, it had all the holes down the side so it had cut off half her hand. When I first started doing this, it kind of threw me off because I kept looking for holes over here and then I realized they would have been on the border pieces, they shouldn't even be in the middle.
  • So yeah, Shutterfly I'm kind of disappointed with you guys on that... Nevertheless, it was a fun puzzle!

I’m such a puzzle lover that it’s like I've now been bitten by the jigsaw puzzle bug, and although I've finished many of them prior to this one, I’m definitely not going to stop as you know I’ve got this amazing puzzle series going on. So, stay tuned, and do not forget to check out “1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle 5 of 10 | Brittney” video.

Happy Puzzling guys!
